The home page is the starting point for users of the Plymouth Medical Society Historic Collection. From here, you can start to search for images of interest to you. You can do this straight away without registering.
However, if you wish to download an image or the use the Lightbox facility to save your favourites, you will need to register. This is a simple process and free of charge for non-commercial use. To register, click on "Register" at the top right hand side of the home page and follow the instructions.
You can perform a "Quick search" from the images home page. Simply enter one or more words into the "Keywords" fields and click "Go". Asset Bank will then search for matches in the metadata of the items (i.e. title, description, author etc.). For a more specific search click on the Advanced Search link.
The "browse categories" area allows you to browse through themed, related images.
Advanced search offers the opportunity to refine your search by using and combining a number of different search criteria
The "featured image" is the large image shown towards the top right of the home page. Any image in the database can be shown here - it can be changed by an administrator.
The "recently added" panel shows a number of items that have recently been added to Asset Bank, and which the logged in user has permission to see. The size and number of these items are configurable.
Depending on how Asset Bank is configured you may see another list of thumbnails, similar to recently added, called promoted images. These are defined by a system adminstrator and can be useful for highlighting images of special importance or topicality. Clicking on the "see all promoted images link" will take you to the Promoted Images page.
This area enables you to browse the access levels that you have the right to see. Please note that this feature will not be visible if you can only see one access level, or if you are not making use of access levels in Asset Bank.
