Title: Of the dissection of the superficial parts of the neck and face
Description: An image showing the dissection of the neck and face. The surface tissues have been removed to show the muscles, nerves, veins and arteries immediately underneath. The features are labelled and include the parotid gland (O, one of the salivary glands just in front of the ear), the jugular vein (F), and the facial vein and artery (c and d). The text gives a description of how to perform the dissection, and a description of the location and appearance of the anatomical features of the neck and face. The rest of the volume deals with the anatomy of the human body, its observation through dissection, and signs of disease. It contains a number of other illustrations taken from dissections, and detailed descriptions of the parts of the body and their appearance.
