Title: Dissection of the nerves of the neck and thorax
Description: An image of a dissection to show the nerves of the neck and thorax. It shows the right side of a body from the waist upwards. The skin and muscles of the neck and body are peeled back and the ribs cut away. Some of the internal organs (such as the lungs) have been moved, and there are hooks in place to make the nerves more easily seen. All of the nerves and the major organs are labelled. The text gives a detailed description of how to prepare and carry out the dissection, and the appearance and location of the nerves. The rest of the volume deals with the anatomy of the human body, its observation through dissection, and signs of disease. It contains a number of other illustrations taken from dissections, and detailed descriptions of the parts of the body and their appearance..
