| Title: | Veines de la face dans leurs rapports avec les arteres / Veins of the face in their relationship with the arteries |
|---|---|
| Description: | The arteries and veins of the face and neck, shown lifesize. The image shows a man from the shoulders upwards, with the skin of the head and throat removed (although the ears and eyelashes are still shown). The muscles have also been removed to different extents on the right and left side of the face to show the arteries and veins at different depths. The accompanying text is in French. Taken from a volume covering the anatomy of the respiratory and circulatory systems. The volume was originally part of an eight volume series by Bourgery, which is commonly regarded as one of the most beautifully illustrated works of anatomy ever published. ( NB. This volume has been rebacked and the original boards retained and repaired through a kind donation from the Derriford Hospital League of Friends). |
